We’re a family of 11 with children ranging from 21 to 0. All of us live in a tiny house together in the U.S. besides our oldest daughter who lives in Ethiopia. Our house started out being only 230 sq. ft. and is now up to 770 sq. ft. with a deck. God is good! We are committed Christians who have had the unwarranted joy of bringing a number of brothers and sisters to the Lord and walking beside them in the faith as we aim for building a single local gathering of Christians in our city.
But the most important thing for you to know right now about us is…we don’t have it all figured out! Or in other words, we still lack wisdom in a lot of things, but since we have asked God for wisdom and he has granted some, we are happy to share what we have learned.
We know that not everything we share here will apply to everyone or work best for everyone, so please don’t assume we’re claiming that for everything we share! Even if what we share won’t work for you, maybe you can reengineer it to do so. We may share some universal principles, but we also know that for many universal principles there is room for variation in how they are applied.
If anything, we hope the biggest encouragement you get from us is that it is possible to wisely build your own house with whatever materials are around (both physically and metaphorically). It’s important to aim for consistency, but not at the expense of flexibility when it is needed!
And, of course, we also know that there will be a lot of people in the world who do not like or are even hostile to the things we have found to be true and helpful. Concerning that type of person, if they do not call themselves a follower of Jesus, we do not judge them (1 Corinthians 5:12-13), but, unfortunately, because that is so common we don’t allow comments on our posts and require a lot to get a message through to us.
