I (Dad) got some new pants that I really want to share about!
I don’t know about you, but I just don’t feel as nice if I’m wearing something entirely plastic. I really doubt that it is at all leaching into my skin or affecting me in any way other than comfort, but it’s just the principle of wearing something I could regrow and remake on my own (a common theme on this site), at least if I had a field of cotton and a lot of time.
And maybe it’s just the fact that the Jews were given a law from God for themselves about not mixing fabric, but I really don’t like mixed fabrics. Of course, when it is just the elastic in the waistband or something that’s of a different kind I don’t care, but when the actual fabric is interwoven with different kinds of thread, whether it be mixtures of natural fabric or artificial fabric, I don’t like it at all. I’ve found too that those types of fabrics last the shortest amount of time – usually one of the less dominate threads will somehow get thrust out and caught or tear more easily. Anyway, so I always look for a 100% type, preferably 100% cotton or something regrowable.
A year and a half ago I found some 100% cotton pants that were really nice, although they were a little more expensive and didn’t quite last as long as I expected. I had been wearing them for six months or so with the hem falling apart at the feet and holes developing in the side… So needless to say, I’ve been looking for nice looking but 100% cotton pants recently and was coming up dry on all my searches, at least within a reasonable price range. But to my surprise, I found the pair shown above of 100% cotton pants on Walmart.com at a really reasonable price.
The pants are technically work pants but I figured that was probably a better idea since the other ones fell apart faster than I’d expected (I know, I know, when you alternate between only two pairs of pants for a year, it should probably be expected). The look of the pants though is not quite the work pants look, especially with the half pleated front. They look good, the fit was perfect, and they were exactly what I was looking for. Maybe you or some man you know will appreciate them as much as I do!
